Sassy Bitches Take on the World!

Olivia 32

We have talked about taking a girl’s trip for a very long time! We took one back when Olivia was eleven years old and Owen was a baby. And we always said we’d do it again but it never happened. I would feel bad to leave Owen out normally but he bought a house the month of our trip and was just moving in and getting settled so that really took a lot of the guilt of that away.

We had a lot of planning drama with the trip mostly due to leaving the kids at home. Olivia thought she had Brooke scheduled to babysit on her regular days and we were leaving on the trip on a Tuesday evening so they would just go to her house WTF that week and we’d fly home that weekend. However, Brooke wanted that week off to go on vacation too. That left us in a mess and finally we figured it all out. Brookes parents would take one day, Pam would take one day and Alan would work from home one day and have the Elders what them in the morning and he would watch them in the afternoon. Then Tim had the evenings and the weekend until we got back on Sunday.

One other problem we ended up having was Kevins T-ball! We thought the season didn’t end until mid June but it ended the last week of May when we were gone! So, we missed TWO games (something we also weren’t expecting and the final game too where they give out the medals.

All the moms Olivia knew told her to not worry about missing it because the medal ceremony is only a minute long and maybe not even that. Turns out Tim, the coach gave out the medals inside the dugout so no one really saw it very well at all. We will correct that next year if he coaches again.

We had also switched weeks at some point to go the end of May VS beginning of June in an effort NOT to miss the end of Tball and that didn’t work out. What are the chances that not one single game was rained out!

Tuesday May 23rd

Ok, so after all the drama leading up to it, we finally were set to go. Alan is driving us to the airport and Kacie and Owen are riding down with us because they are going shopping at IKEA after they drop us off.

Olivia has teachers institute today (students last day was yesterday) from 8-1 and Alan worked from home this morning. At 1:00pm we drove over and picked up Owen and Kacie and then went and sat and waited in Olivia’s driveway for her to arrive. Oh, also I had Kevin and Todd this morning and so at noon I took them over to the Elders after I had fed them lunch. Tim will pick them up after work before the Tball game. Actually, I think he just picked up Kevin and GMA watched Todd while they were all at the game since Alan, Owen, Kacie and even Pam weren’t going to be at this game tonight to look after Todd.

We pulled out of Lib’s driveway at 1:15 and got dropped at the airport door at 3:00 this is the best way to fly! Just get dropped at the door.

We got checked in and got rid of our send through bags and then went through security and we were sitting in a restaurant ordering food at 3:30!

I was starved because I hadn’t eaten lunch. We split a sandwich and an order of nachos and Olivia had a drink. We spent $54 and I paid because she’s going to pay for the uber when we arrive tonight. Also, Tim called her right after we ordered which I had been worried he would do nonstop the whole trip. He does it a lot when he watches the kids. Two calls so far and we aren’t even on a plane yet) And she had talked to him about this before we left letting him know she will panic when she sees a call because he should only call if it’s an emergency.

Well, the emergency today was that Kevin didn’t want to go to his Tball game and Tim wanted her to talk to him. LOL

Ok, crisis averted we boarded and landed on time but it was storming pretty bad in Orlando and apparently all over because it was a very bumpy flight We had to sit on the plane and wait about 5 minutes before we could pull up to the gate to exit because it was lightening so bad the workers couldn’t be outside to direct the pilot.

Once we got down to baggage claim there were people everywhere!! And they made an announcement that luggage cannot be unloaded from planes until the lightening is a certain distance away. I sat down on the corner of a seating area and the woman next to me said she had been waiting an HOUR! OMG! I forgot to mention we had a late flight already landing around 9pm.

Luckily, we only waited about 20 minutes for luggage and then we got our uber which we waited about 10-15 minutes for. He was very nice and friendly and it was still raining out. We arrived at the Beach Club at 9:48pm.

Ok, the Beach Club lets talk about it for a minute. This was pricey but we were splitting the cost of it and I went back and forth in my mind of if we should or shouldn’t but #1 what are the chances this trip will ever happen again? #2 it’s the end of May and this weekend coming up is Memorial Weekend so it will be HOT! We have never been to Disney at this time of year and we expect to MELT and spend a lot of time in the pool so the convince of this hotel and pool can’t be beat. We are also planning to spend a lot of time at Epcot this trip to for Flower and Garden festival etc. So, we threw caution and good judgement to the wind and stayed at the Beach Club and we had ZERO regrets. The trip would have been good at Pop too but this was amazing and we really took advantage of our hotel.

We had gotten our room ready text while eating dinner in the St Louis airport and I had tried to find the location of it on my phone but I couldn’t figure it out. but once we arrived a CM pointed us to the elevator and we had a GREAT location. Took the elevator up to 3rd floor I think and we were about 3 rooms away. SO CLOSE! I’m going to want that location if I ever stay here again. It’s a bit of a walk to the pool but many rooms would be much farther. I liked being so close to the lobby. This came in handy during afternoon breaks because I just left my scooter in the lobby near the bathrooms and elevators and didn’t have to deal with taking it up to the room.

We dropped our stuff in the room and took pics of the Ray/Oller sign on the TV and then headed down the marketplace for a couple of breakfast items for the morning and a coke for me in the morning (she drinks coffee) and got some distilled water. We were in a hurry to get in there because they were closing soon.

Then we made our way to Beaches and Cream and just ordered at the walk up window outside. We thought we could only get ice cream cones or shakes so we each got a double scoop in a waffle cone that they serve in a cup because they melt so fast in this humidity! We sat at a table and ate them and just sweated. It was SO SO humid! Everything was steamed and fogged up. Also, the pool was closed from the storm but the lifeguards were picking up towels etc in the pool area.

At the end of the trip (or maybe after we got home, I can’t remember) I learned that we could have ordered the No Way Jose at that walk up window!! It wasn’t on the menu there so who knew! I was a little angry.

We chatted for a bit and took some pics while sitting out there finishing our treats but I have to say this humidity really had me worried it was 11pm and we just had sweat rolling!! WHAT ARE WE IN FOR!

Back to the room to settle in and she showered. I set up my CPAP (where’s Alan when I need him lol) and now it’s almost midnight and she’s still over there texting in bed. Finally, had lights out and OHHH MYYY GODDD SHE SNORESSSSSSSSSS!! Like a freight train! Holy Shit! She has been sick this week and went to the Dr for meds and she later claims that’s why she’s snoring but WOW I would not have been surprised if people in the room beside us could hear her. I barely slept at all and I really mean that.

I got up to pee twice during the night and I kept thinking once she gets into a deep sleep, she’ll stop but no she never did.

Wednesday May 24th

I woke up and noticed it was quiet in the room which meant one thing…………..she’s awake! And then she got up and went to the bathroom at 6:30 and I just laid there and enjoyed the silence. I felt like I had a headache in the middle of the night from it.

Anyway, enough of that nightmare. My alarm went off and I bought our Genie for today because this is the 1st trip where you have to do it the day of instead of just adding it to your package.

It was $46 total and then I bought two indiv LL’s Guardians at $15 each so that she can ride twice. They are for 9-10am And I also booked a regular LL for us at Remy 11:30-12:30.

Oh, and I had to set up “my genie day” before buying and booking all of that. And all of my genie stuff and bookings went well this morning thank goodness I had been worried I’d have issues and wouldn’t have Alan there to help me figure it out or try on his phone.

Then I showered and got ready because I have to meet my scooter people at 8am. Yet another thing I had stressed over, what time to set this up. Would we be up early and ready to go or not!

I left the room at 7:45, she was still getting ready but as I left the neighbors were setting out some stuff they didn’t want because they were checking out so I got a big can of spray sun lotion for us. I still had not heard from my scooter people (gold mobility) and so I called them and they said yes, they are coming and should arrive about 8:15. I’m pretty sure we got confirmation texts in the past but not this time.

Once he arrived it took two seconds and Olivia had shown up so we were off! A family out behind the BC asked us to take their pic and they took ours. This was lucky because it’s the only pic we have of us with the hotel building.

Off to Epcot and it’s about 8:35 so we had just missed rope drop which actually meant the line wasn’t huge but we were still in the early entry time frame. We passed a rush of people hustling from the front of the park trying to get back to Remy. The international gateway where we enter at sure does have a huge advantage at Remy for opening.

Olivia stopped to use the bathroom and then we went on test track and the sign said 20 or 30 minutes I can’t remember which but we got in line and the ride went down for about 5 minutes. They made two announcements and then it started running again. Thank goodness we had been worried. My experience with test track is that if it goes down its usually for a long time! But all in all, I think we only waited about 20 minutes total. Also, I handled it better than last trip where I announced that I’m done with this ride.

Its now 9:30 and she is off to go ride her two rides on Guardians and I’m sitting in Connections Café enjoying the AC!! I’m writing travel notes and going to eat my breakfast apple pastry thing I got last night. She ate hers in the room this morning.

We had texted and met up after her rides and we saw that Soarin had gone from 10 -20 and is now at 35 minutes so we skipped it and walked around the gift shop and then over to meet Mickey! This is a hidden gem because there’s never a line!

Next, we went on to World Showcase and had 8 minutes left until the booths opened so we waited and then we started with chicken and waffles at the honey booth and then on to Canada where we got a beef dish and a scallop’s dish. Then on to the UK to split an order of fish and chips and it was huge and we got two big pieces of fish! We actually got a table here and sat down to eat instead of the standing tables.

Then on to Morrocco where Lib got a drink and then we stopped somewhere for me to get a drink and we got the mango shrimp somewhere.

In Japan we got the frushi and after eating that we went to the fountains in France and reenacted her drinking and passing out at the fountain. It was funny and worked well for pics since there weren’t many people around. I don’t even think there was a single person besides her in the pics.

We then used our LL to ride Remy and also stopped by the French bakery and got a hot ham and cheese croissant which was a waste because there was barely anything on it and the croissant was just crumbly. And we also got a strawberry tart and it was good. Olivia also got another slush drink in France too.

We just sat and relaxed and people watched while she drank it and there was a very VERY foul-mouthed couple sitting near us, we could not believe them and they sounded so stupid. Also, it is sunny one minute and cloudy and looks like rain the next. Theres a breeze right now and its hot but it could be MUCH worse so we aren’t complaining.

We left the park at 1:15 and walked back to the room. Did you hear that ………… WALKED BACK TO THE ROOM! It was so nice and quick. We collapsed on the beds but are going to go to the pool we just took a couple minutes to relax and then got on our suits and lotion all up and went down to “storm along bay” the name of the pool here. We got our wrist bands to prove we are staying at this hotel and then sat our stuff on a chair and I went down the steps to enter the pool and Olivia was still ON the steps and BOOM a loud clap of thunder and they blew the whistle to get out of the pool. I had gotten in just long enough to get my suit all WET and she was about halfway in.

So, back to the room and we napped from 2-4 and she once again snored SO LOUDLY! I had to put a pillow over my head to be able to get any sleep. Also, the maids are awfully loud while cleaning the rooms around us. JEEZ. I hate to admit it but it’s probably a good thing it rained and we napped since I got zero sleep last night and tonight is our late night in the parks!

I woke up at 3:50 and saw that I had a missed call from Tim but I waited till she woke up a few minutes later to tell her and she had several missed calls from him. So, I’m thinking oh crap! What’s happened? And she calls him back only to find out he couldn’t find a receipt for something he was going to return. I personally would have killed him if I’d been her. Does he not know what an emergency is and if our phones hadn’t had been on silent then we would have been woken up for that.

I also had a text from mom telling me that I had an air fryer delivered this afternoon. This is funny because LESS then 24 hours ago she said I’m not going to text you while your gone. And again, this would have woken us up.

We just laid around the room for about a half an hour because it’s still pouring rain out and we don’t really want to go out in that. We are headed to MK tonight and have dinner plans and the fireworks dessert party, as well as deluxe resort late night hours!

So, at 4:30 we left the room and went to the gift shop and I bought EAR PLUGS! Smartest thing I’ve ever thought of and thankfully they sell them! At about 5:.00pm we went to the bus stop (it’s a covered walkway all the way there, we later noticed Yacht Club is not) and took the bus to Magic Kingdom. I loaded the scooter on my own and did pretty good. Alan always loads it on busses so I had stressed about this.

We should be inside the park by 5:30 so we can try for the 6:00pm opening window to book Inidv LL’s for TRON. Tonight, are extra magic late night hours only for deluxe resort guests so the park is open two hours later for those staying in deluxe hotels which we are.

We get off the bus and it’s raining not a total downpour but raining. We didn’t get out our ponchos because Olivia didn’t think we needed them but then I got stuck in the security line extra long out in the rain and then we made our way down Main Street and basically my hair and shirt were totally soaked so we stopped in the crowds and put on ponchos and then we went straight to Skippers Canteen for our reservation. Fyi it’s still raining. We arrive and no one is helpful AT ALL about where to park my scooter at out of the rain. Or honestly even in the rain because they were just flat out unhelpful and kind of rude. CM’s and customers both because they were all waiting for their names to be called but could see me trying to figure out how to park and not one person moved out of my way.

We were seated right away, they literally had to wait for me to get parked because they had already called for us. We were in a smaller room toward the back at a small table in the corner. Larry was our servers name which I remember because I thought he looked like one of Mr. Morrow’s friends (youtube vlogger) but I later verified he was not.

We got the cheese bread dipping stuff and then each ordered the fried rice and shrimp as our meals which are technically appetizers. But with our dessert party coming up after a bit we didn’t want full meals so this had been our plan all along and we also both had water because we have tons of drink choices at the party in a bit. The bill came to $45 which is a cheaper dinner at Disney and I was full.

I kind of want to do a similar plan again there but I wish they had more appetizers to choose from.

I had gotten the LL’s for TRON ($20 each) so while I was paying the bill I told her to go on over that way and get in line because her time was about to start. I will just scoot on over there in the rain still, when I’m done. So, I paid the bill and found a bathroom but not inside the restaurant because that one had a line! And then I met her over at the Tron area once she came off her 1st ride so we could switch bands. It was still drizzling rain so I parked under the covered thing directly under the ride to watch it but OMG I was literally falling asleep!! No sleep last night because of the snoring and then more of that during nap today I could hardly hold my head up!

She came off and saw me. I had taped several times it went flying by but I had no way of knowing which one she was on.

Anyway, once she found me and woke me up LOL we went on over to check in at the fireworks dessert party. I REALLY wish I knew the exact time we checked in but we were on of the first few ones and we got a great table right up against the railing in one of the railing areas, they had moved the tables away because it wasn’t covered in that area so if the rain started again, they would get wet but we checked in early enough that we snagged a front row and covered area. My 1st picture here was taken at 6:50pm.

Next is when we kind of freaked out with the excitement of being there early, getting a good table, the rain stopping and basically went crazy filling our plates. We had about an hour and a half so we should have paced ourselves! LOL Fireworks didn’t start until 8:30.

They had so many desserts plus some crepes with apple filling, cheese and crackers, fruit, chocolate dipped strawberries and tons of other dessert items. Then all the drinks wine, beer, sodas and various types of juices but I mostly just drank water because its what tasted better with the desserts. I tried the POG juice everyone raves about but it was warm so I didn’t care for it. I should have tried it again later when it had time to get cold. Olivia had a few different types of drinks. And we ate a ton.

We took a turn going to the bathroom where you have to leave the area and show your band to get back in and I showed my Storm a long Bay pool band in order to be let back in! HAHA! We chatted a little bit with the ladies beside us.

And then the fireworks started and it was over faster than I expected which is probably because I was sitting in a seat! When you’re standing around and your feet are killing you the fireworks seem to last longer.

But I think it was only about 20 minutes. I’m so glad we got here early and got an hour and a half of time, food and entertainment out of this. Actually, close to two hours once the fireworks ended. We both really enjoyed it. Once again like the Beach Club hotel this was something I was unsure of but we didn’t regret it.

Once it ended, we grabbed the scooter which was backed in and parked ready for escape outside of this area and we took off over to ride Buzz once and she maxed out her score. And after a quick bathroom stop, we went over to Haunted Mansion because she hadn’t ridden this in years since we didn’t take Kevin on it during her last trip.

After that it was back to Big Thunder for two walk on rides and we shed a tear as we went by Splash Mountain! Then over to Pirates and we had a boat TO OURSELVES! It was kind of creepy because there wasn’t anyone around in front or behind us. Oh, and the sign out front said 20 minute wait. LOL

We were going to ride Aladin but it was down they told us it would probably be back up in about 30 minutes but the park would almost be closing then too.

So, we went and took a few pics in front of the castle even though we looked a bit rough. Especially me after getting soaking wet in the rain earlier this evening. Luckily it was dark enough that you really can’t see how bad my hair truly looks.

Out to the bus at 11:30 which meant we still had 30 minutes left of park time but we were tired and had ridden everything we wanted to at that point. I had trouble parking the scooter on the bus this time because I had to make a sharp angled turn which apparently, I don’t know how to do!

We are on the bus as I am typing my notes and I am sitting on the scooter and I see her over there and she’s talking on the phone the whole time. This has me worried because it’s very late and Tim should have been asleep long ago. So, I wonder what’s up. Later I found out that nothing was wrong he was just up super late and called her to chat. Also, after all our work scheduling kids here and there and who is watching them etc he has decided that this watching the kids all evening and then going to work during the day is just too much for him so he’s taking the day off tomorrow. (he’s already off on Friday and we worked it so that he didn’t have the kids on Friday his mom does and that way he only has evenings and the weekend) However, he’s not watching the kids they are still going to the Elders in the morning and with Alan in the afternoon. I later had to listen to Alan bitch about this, he was fine with taking a half of a vacation day to watch the kids for us to take this trip but he was NOT happy to find out that the day he did it Tim didn’t go to work but Alan still had the kids and used his time off.

Tim also said that Brookes parents said Kevin was a brat for them today (probably not their wording) and we also found out that the video that Olivia had made to say Hi to Kevin actually set him off and he was upset over it. I had wondered if it was a good idea but not my call to make but I think in situations like this out of sight and out of mind is the better way to go. I got that when we watched Kevin while they were in the hospital having Todd and also when they went to Key West.

We arrived back at the hotel and unloading the scooter went much better. We got to our room at 12:30am and went straight to bed!!!

We were exhausted but had such a good time. Minus the rain.

Royal Pacific Resort

Thursday May 25th

We had no alarm this morning! And I have to say that feels very weird at Disney. I had slept with my ear plugs which helped a lot! I slept from 12:30-5am and then got up to pee, went back to sleep and had to pee again at 6:45 which was super annoying because that was the time, I would have set an alarm to buy Genie but we aren’t buying it today. But I dozed off again until 8:00am! That was nice. (minus all the potty breaks) I got up and showered, brushed my teeth and took all my meds and she’s still asleep. Oh, and I didn’t buy Genie but I did buy two idiv LL’s for her to ride Guardians today from 10-11am.

Our plan is to go ride Soarin which is another ride she hasn’t been on in many years because we skipped it on Kevins trip. Then over for her two rides on Guardians and then to the other side of World Showcase. I’m just sitting on my phone quietly in the room and she slept till 9 and luckily woke up on her own. Got ready and left the room at around 9:30 or so.

We got to Soarin and it only had a 10 minute wait and we got front row! I handed it ok somehow better then the last two trips when I rode it which is very weird.

Once we were done, I sent her on ahead to Guardians while I was going to check out Sunshine Seasons for a cream cheese danish. They didn’t have any and I can’t figure out why they are so hard to find anymore. But I did buy an $8 fruit and cheese bowl and a coke and I drove over to the Connections Café again beside Guardians and sat in the AC and ate and drank while she rode. Something was wrong with the ride and her 1st ride took forever but then we met and swapped bands and her 2nd ride was much faster.

But after I swapped bands with her, I went back towards WS to the booths because I was getting bored. I went to the pineapple booth and got a violet lemonade!! OMG it was sooo good! I took a selfie with it. This is where I messed up, I should have gotten a 2nd one. I wanted to come back over here some other time to get another one but we never made it back over to this area. It was yummy and purple and had a cute flower on top of it.

Anyway, she showed up and we made our way over to the Mexican booth and for a cheese taco thing it was messy and I wasn’t very impressed with it. Next, we went inside the building that I can’t think of the name of (it had AC) and got the tempura shrimp! THIS was good! and there was a lot to it. Plus, it had a kick which I’m pretty sure she has a live pic of me taking a bite and saying it has a kick and looking pretty stupid. But that was my favorite shrimp of the trip. Lol

Then to China and we got Rangoon wontons and chicken on a stick that was all good. In Germany she got a cheese bread thing and I went and got a pretzel bread pudding but its not as good as it could or should be. Lol

I’m pretty sure that was all we got before we headed out to the Beach Club. We got back to the room at 12:50 and into the pool at 1:10 and we stayed in the pool until 4pm! We were in the lazy river for about two hours after we finally got floats. It takes a while to find an empty float to grab. And the poor people that may have wanted ours were out of luck because we hogged them for a very long time.

Floating in that lazy river was so nice and relaxing and I think we could have done it till the sun set on us!

Except for a bit there was a group of annoying overzealous teenage girls screaming and jumping around and ruining our relaxation. Also, I should mention that these pool floats are not the old style circle floats, these are the open seat floats like we use at Olivia and Tims pool so a big girl like myself can easily get in and out of them. I could never do the lazy river at Typhoon lagoon because of the old style floats.

I asked two male lifeguards who were talking what time it was and they looked at me like I was insane and I don’t know if they even answered me or not. But it turns out there is a clock at the pool but after being in there for about 3 hours we had never seen it! Well, we found this very funny!! Maybe the sun had fried our brains. HAHA!!

We got out of the water at 3:45 which we were shocked to learn that was the time! We had planned to stay at the pool until 4 so we weren’t running late but had no idea it was already almost 4pm. We got two pina coladas which I literally have no memory of! hahaha I can’t stop laughing about that right now! ($30 and apparently not too impressive since I don’t remember drinking it)

We went back to the room to get changed and ready to head to Epcot. We had reservations at Via Napoli for dinner and we were good and hungry after our pool time. We are also planning on going to the Eat to the Beat concert tonight to see the M-80’s. They play three sets and the 1st one happens while we eat dinner. I parked and covered my scooter for dinner because the sky looks dark. We were seated in the back room at Via Napoli and the room was mostly empty when we got there so it was nice and quiet. This restaurant can get loud. We got a large sausage and two sodas (I had a headache and needed the caffeine to get rid of it) our bill was $50 which is not bad for a sit down Disney meal for two people.

We headed over to the concert area but it was about to rain and so I went and parked the scooter inside the American BBQ fast food restaurant straight across from the concert area. While I did that Olivia went on ahead to get us seats and I told her we are going to need covered seats. She did good and got us 3rd row covered seats and as soon and I joined her boom the wind started whipping pretty hard and the rain started pouring! Well, the band came out and played two songs and then quickly said we’ve got to go please come back for the later show and they disappeared. It is now raining sideways and the wind is really bad so we aren’t going anywhere we just were praying they wouldn’t kick us out of our covered seating area! There was a lady sitting on the other side of me who was there by herself and we made friends and chatted she talked about Disney and the band we were waiting to see and also about being there last spring for the awful flood night when Rick Springfield played and Owen and Kacie were there with us. Her and her friends were there too. She told me about some local area places this band also plays etc. We sat there from 6:30-8:00 and at some point, Lib had to make a run for it to go pee. After some horrible rain, wind and lightening I kept my eye on my phone watching for rides that close due to lightening to open back up. LOL and eventually we got to see the last set of the night. Thank God they got to come back on and play! I was so bummed thinking we could have saw their 1st set and THEN had pizza and THEN watched their 3rd set but WHO KNEW!

The show was good and Olivia seemed to like it and knew the songs. Once it was over it is still raining out so I went and got the scooter from inside and we had to make our way out of Epcot in the rain back to the Beach Club.

We went to Beaches and Cream and put our name in for a table. They told me 30 minute wait to sit at the bar and I said OK. We just wanted ice cream anyway. While I did that Olivia was on the phone with Tim.

When they called us inside, we ended up at a regular table not at the bar. I wasn’t sure if I was happy about that or not. Sitting at the bar watching them make stuff might have been fun.

We each got the No Way Jose!! Omg its soooo Good! but I think we could have shared one! It was $30 with tip. We were a bit wild, loud and giggly on our way back to our room. I’m just downright slap happy!

It was 10:30 when we got to the room and I charged the scooter and hung up the wet ponchos and then spent some serious time in the bathroom. Olivia had made a comment about me being a “kept woman” on this trip because Alan normally charges the scooter, hangs the wet ponchos, checks us in for the flight and deals with the luggage!

We laid down in bed at 11pm and we had made a breakfast reservation for 7:45am tomorrow morning while we were out and about tonight. And we spent the whole evening talking about what to do the next two days we keep changing our plans. LOL

Friday May 26

Ok, this snoring has got to stop!! she doesn’t even seem sick so WTF!! I set the alarm and got up at 6:45 to buy genie and booked an indiv LL at Rise for 9-10 and then booked slinky for noon but then modified it to 9:30-10:30! I was very proud of myself since I’m pretty new to the modifying. When I was done booking, I showered and she was up and ready so we made it to our breakfast at Ale & Compass over at the yacht club at 7:45. We got seats at the back of a mostly empty restaurant and we both ordered the American breakfast and added on the buffet which included our drinks too. it is $23 per person so it’s a good deal by Disney food standards.

When we were done, we made a stop at the bathroom and she had a monthly visitor which she was NOT expecting! But luckily the deluxe resorts have free tampons and pads sitting out in a basket on the counter. (I remember on the trip Kacie came on she went to the bathroom at Beaches and Cream and was shocked they had this stuff out for free! LOL)

Anyway, we stocked up with a few things and then out to the scooter to leave when she realized she left her phone in the bathroom! That was a close one! She ran back in and got it and we headed out to the boat which was pulling up as we were coming down the dock. I hustled on ahead so I could get loaded and they wouldn’t leave without us.

It was 8:40am at this point by the way. We stopped at the Swan/Dolphin and then on to HS. We went straight to Rise and had to wait outside for 2-3 minutes for our time to be ready. Then over to Toy Story land to ride Slinky. Our time was ready when we got there so we just went right on, and got put in the FRONT ROW!!! OMG!

I survived. Barely. Then over for a bathroom break where I had left the scooter and some stupid CM had moved it and I mean MOVED IT! They had parked it clear over at the Aliens ride and I had to search for it.

As soon as we had tapped in to Slinky I booked us Toy Story Mania and it was good for 15 minutes later which means it was ready now. When we got off Toy Story it was 10:25 and we HUSTLED over to the 10:30 Frozen show. They had no more room for the scooter but we still got in without it and got to sit toward the back of the show.

After it was over, I went and got a frozen coke to take a shade break and have some caffeine while she went over to ride her 1st ride on Tower which I had booked for her once we got into the Frozen show.

I made my way over to the ride exit and swapped bands with her so she can take her 2nd ride and it was looking like rain! I parked under the covered area where you exit the Tower building. And once she tapped in to the ride, I was going to try to get a LL for Mickey Minnie railway which was for quite a bit later at 2:30 but I was going to try to modify it.

Also, her 1st ride on Tower took ONE HOUR because one side of Tower was down so I’m wondering how long the 2nd ride will take! Its not pouring but definably raining and I’m hunkered down under this awning area with a bunch of other people. She was finally done at Tower at 12:15 and we both took a bathroom break and are trying to decide if we should stay in the park or go back to the room. She got a mango margarita and a churro to help her think it over! HAHA! We sat at Starring Rolls while we discussed it and chatted and she ate and drank. I tried the drink and it was good!!

Next, we went to One Mans Dream which was actually the new live action Little Mermaid movie. Once we were done, we still had 35 minutes before our Railway ride (I never could get it modified closer) so we decided to head back to the hotel.

When we got to the park exit, I saw a group with two scooters slowly heading toward the boat dock so I hauled ass to beat them there because the boat only holds two scooters at a time! I felt a little bad but knowledge is power! LOL As I took off zooming one of our ponchos flew out of my basket and I looked back at Olivia who yelled that she’d grab it (she knew I was hurrying to beat those people) and so I kept on going. Our evil plan worked and we not only got on the boat we didn’t have to wait for it because it was pulling in when we arrived. We had really good luck with all transportation on this trip.

I noticed ONE dark cloud on the boat ride back and kept my eye on it but really thought it was going to keep moving right along. We got back to the room at 1:35, got suits and lotion on and boom it’s now pouring rain! so here we sit in our suits all lotioned up on the edge of our beds! We laid down and fell asleep! The nap lasted till 2:30 and then the rain had stopped so we headed down to the pool. We have until 4pm to swim and then we are ubering to Ohana’s for dinner.

We floated in the pool until 4 and were once again shocked that time flew by that fast and it was already time to get out. We chatted very briefly with a lady who is a local and said her family came for the weekend just to spend it at the hotel not the parks. Once we got out, we sat about 15 minutes to dry off then went to the room to get ready and I did my hair very quickly. She called Tim to check in while I was getting ready then we got our uber over to the Poly.

We got seated on time at 5 and our first table sucked it was a tiny two person table crammed right in between two big families with little screaming kids! Uh, no thank you we left ours at home! So, Olivia went and asked for a different table and we got one it was LITERALLY at the exit to the kitchen so not great but at least no screaming kids.

She ordered an alcoholic drink and got carded and didn’t have her ID on her so she couldn’t get the drink this was annoying and also a little funny considering she’s 32 and she’s also had several drinks since we’ve been on this trip and not been carded before.

We ate our meal and I wasn’t a fan of the shrimp or the steak and also the meal with tip was $150 which has just gotten ridiculous! We ate here with Owen and Kacie in spring 2022 and then Lib, Tim and Kev in fall of 2022 and at this point I think I’m done with it for several years. It has gotten too expensive and the food isn’t as good as it used to be.

It was at this dinner that Olivia came up with the title for the trip report because she kept calling us “sassy bitches”!

We left at 6:20 and took another uber back to the Beach Club to get her ID and my scooter for our evening plans. Alan called and said he went to Strasburg to meet Willy for Hot Wheels and they were having town wide garage sales and he bought Owen a bunch of stuff. Some lawn chairs, a welder and propane tanks for him and us. We hung up just as Olivia and I were entering Epcot, which was at 7pm. We headed to the show in the UK called “Command Performance” apparently, it’s the same guys who are in the M-80’s band which I learned the other night while visiting with that lady during the rained-out show.

We had missed the 1st song but stayed for the rest of it. It’s only about 30 minutes long. And then they were taking a break before their next set and so we went to France to get slushies and I had an orange one which is very odd because I typically hate orange flavored things! However, I sucked that drink down FAST! And it was so good which it had better be for $15 each! They were strong and it hit me fast which is what happens with you chug it. LOL We sat down at an outside table nearby in France while we drank them and then we headed back over at 7:50 for the next show.

We had hoped to get a bench so she could sit down but no luck. Each set they play on that same evening is different so that’s nice versus the same songs repeated each set. Also, we noticed that the lead singer from M-80’s was not in the band. I guess they have a larger group of guys so that when one can’t make it someone else fills in since they play at the UK very regularly. It was just songs from British singers that they were doing as apposed to the 80’s music the other night. The 2nd show was over at 8:30 and we went back to France for a 2nd slushy each (that would be $60 total $15x4!) and we saw the tables and chairs in front of the French restaurant and thought no way would any of those people be dumb enough to give up those chairs this close to the fireworks starting. WELLLLLL YES THEY DID!! I was so shocked by it I almost hesitated before we hightailed it over to grab them. So, we sat there and finished our drinks waiting for the fireworks show and I don’t even recall the name of this show, it changes too often. We also took selfies and pics of our awesome spot! This was such good luck we couldn’t believe it.

There were only two small tables with a set of chairs at each sitting there and then someone else gives up their seats and leaves as well and a stupid family with little kids came over and CRAMMED themselves in there and they were practically sitting on Olivia’s lap! We literally picked up our table and moved it away from them and I can’t remember for sure but it seems like they left too. I’m not positive though maybe they just stopped annoying us once we had moved over. So, it was 8:59 and the fireworks were starting or at least the announcement was going on and so Olivia ran over to get us one more round of drinks at the booth which was right by us. Well, they were closing and not selling anymore! Apparently, they don’t sell past 9 and during the fireworks. Well, that sucked!

When the show was over, we just exited the park and were right at our hotel. Have I said how much I love this hotel? OMG We had stopped to pee before leaving the park and then when we got to the hotel we sat on a swing in the sand out on the beach and laughed and were a bit giddy. I’m pretty sure I was a bit drunk. We got back to the room about 10 and into our jammies and writing notes now then to bed soon.

Royal Pacific Resort

Saturday May 27th

Officially Memorial Day weekend!

The crowds have been good so far and the heat has not been bad at all only in the 80’s not the 90’s! The amount of luck we got is unbelievable!

Ok, I’m happy to report that there was no snoring from Olivia last night and not happy to report that I spent the whole night clearing my throat. Her illness started with a sore throat so I’m pretty sure I’m coming down with it now. I don’t have it full blown yet but it’s coming.

The alarm went off at 6:45 and my phone wouldn’t let me log into the Disney app. I messed with it for a bit and it started to work and let me do some stuff but then would pop up and say sorry not right now and sometimes it would tell me that I should check my email for a code they had sent me. I was having a MELTDOWN! It asked for my email and password to log in and then wouldn’t log me in. This went on until 6:58 when I had to use Olivia’s phone to buy Genie and make the indiv LL’s. I got Rise for 6pm tonight and got Flight of Passage for 9:30-10:30 this morning. The return times were too early to book anything else for tonight yet.

We took turns showering and at 8 I texted Alan (7 at home) and had him check the email at home for a code but he said there isn’t anything. Then he tried to call me and can’t and I have zero signal however, Olivia has a full signal. Basically, my phone it totally screwed up! We left the room and walked over to the Yacht Club to take the bus from there since they load 1st over there so it will be easier to load the scooter onto an empty bus. At least that worked out and I loaded onto it just fine.

Olivia called Alan while we were walking over and suddenly my phone just started working! It still shows zero signal though.

We were on the bus and headed over to AK at 8:35 which is surprising with all this drama. The phone begins acting up again when we enter the park. I’m so pissed this is happening but also very relieved that it didn’t happen until the last day!

We went to Everest 1st and she rode it twice with single rider and then she took both bands with her (leaving me moneyless!) and she went back to ride Flight of Passage twice. I had decided to go watch the Lion King show because it has air conditioning and the FoP ride takes a long time to ride.

We split up at 9:35 and I was going to the 10am show. My phone was working when I left her but by the time, I got into the show it had stopped again. No siglnal, no wifi and not letting me call or text NOTHING. So, I have no phone and no money LOL

After the show which I was basically just pissed off during I went to the big gift shop to look around and almost bought myself a best mom key chain that had a mickey head on it. but I thought it was weird to buy it for myself.

My phone started working briefly again and I booked Mickey Railway for 2pm but will have to modify it later on when it gets to the times for the evening.

We met over by Everest and she rode that again and I sat down close to take some pics but I can never tell if she’s on it or not. Later she texted me that she was in the front row and I should get a pic and I replied I was in the bathroom! HAHA oops sorry. She rode it two more times with our two LL’s (10-11am) which she really didn’t need because she could have just done single rider again.

Then we headed over for our early lunch at Yak & Yeti. We used our Landry card and only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for our meal. We got the lettuce cups which she didn’t seem to care for, the boom boom calamari and firecracker shrimp (spicy)! And then we each got our own dessert of the fried cream cheese wontons. That stuff is so good! the bill was $86 before tip.

After lunch we headed out of the park and waited for a bus which took about 20-30 minutes and it finally arrived at 1:30. It is going to Yacht, Beach and the Boardwalk Resort and not everyone got on. It was ridiculous. Also, the driver made me get off my scooter and take a regular seat and told me that’s the rule but yet no one has done that this whole trip OR any trip when Alan has loaded and sat on the scooter which is about a million times!

There were some crying kids on the bus this morning and that same family was trying to load this bus to go back to the hotel but the kids were asleep in the stroller and the mom asked the bus driver if they could get on without folding the stroller and let the kids stay asleep. Well, the driver is a stickler but NO you can defiantly not do that.

Oh, I forgot that at some point apparently one of the rare moments my phone was working I got a text from Owen that the CBOYS are in the AK today! This is a group of guys that he watches on YouTube and he’s made me and Alan but especially me watch tons of their videos with him. I would know them if I saw them so I freaked out and looked all over while we were there but never saw them. I later found out they were in Pandora where Flight of Passage is located during the mid-morning which is when Olivia was riding it. Twice! I bet if I’d skipped the Lion King show and just sat over there waiting on her I would have seen them! Damn it I was so pissed! I said if I see them, I’m going to geek out and say my son makes me watch your videos with him!

Anyway, we got back to the hotel at 2 and went straight to the room quickly changed and to the pool. We moved quickly so the tiredness wouldn’t kick in while we were in the room. haha.

It was VERY hard to find a chair to put our stuff on. We aren’t sitting we are floating but there was just about no place to sit our stuff. We finally found a chair far away so we couldn’t see it at all. We floated again for 2 straight hours and I got out once to check my phone and try and make a LL but we still had 15 minutes left until we could so I didn’t get out again I just waited until we were done swimming to do it.

Out of the pool at 4 and booked Toy Story Mania I had gotten Tower earlier this afternoon) and then up to the room to get changed. We had to steal more free supplies from the resort lobby bathroom for Olivia.

She facetimed Kevin and Pam was there and they were all loading up to go to the winery for Blues Fest. I heard about that and I thought hmmm I hope Tims not drinking if he’s driving the kids home and when she hung up with Kevins facetime she said she was calling Tim back to speak privately to tell him that and funny thing was I never even mentioned it she had thought of it already. lol

We left the room at 4:40 and the boat was pulling up just as we were coming so again, we hauled ass and made it on. Arrived at HS at 5:10 and Olivia went on ahead to see if Rock N Roller coaster was open. It’s been closed for months for refurbishment and isn’t supposed to reopen until approximately July! So, this would be a big deal if it was open! She had heard this rumor somewhere today or maybe yesterday I really don’t remember but anyway she went to check it out and YES it was OPEN! She texted to let me know and I went to the Starbucks and got a carrot cake cookie for us to split. It was $5 and huge so it was a good deal and was delicious. After her RnR ride we shared the cookie (I think I ate my half while she rode) and then we went to use our LL at Mickey’s Railway. I’ve been modifying the crap out of that thing all day.

After a bathroom break, we headed back to ride Rise of the Resistance! I like the ride but even as a Star Wars fan I could do with a little less preshow stuff. When we were done it was a choice of either use our next LL and go ride Toy Story Mania or go around the corner to Baseline Taphouse for drinks and a pretzel. Well, we were hungry since our lunch was early so we went to Baseline and while I sat and held the table and she went and ordered I managed to modify and move our TSM ride back just a bit so we can still go ride it if we want to and I also added Aliens swirling saucers.

Unfortunately, the pretzel was overcooked and the worst one I’ve ever had at Disney.

We finished our crappy pretzel and walked back to ride Aliens 1st because of the time of the LL’s and then because the TSM ride was going to overlap her time for Tower we chose to skip it so she could go ride Tower instead. All that work for nothing lol but I was fine with it.

We also still wanted to get a funnel cake because we haven’t had one on the whole trip and both get the mango daiquiris. Which I think I called them mango margaritas earlier in the report but I’m not going back to find and change it. haha But I really don’t think we have time for all of that because it’s already 7:30 and she’s heading to go use 2 LL’s for Tower. Plus, she wants to ride Rock n Roller coaster again too.

As I read this, I’m thinking we should have skipped going to Baseline Taphouse. Of course, if we’d known the pretzel wasn’t going to be good we would have.

Ok because of time she just did one ride on Tower and none on Rock I feel kind of bad about that because this whole hurry up thing is because of our dinner reservation at the Boardwalk. But she claimed she was “rided out” and tired. Lol

We grabbed out mango coladas which I finally figured out was the name of them! This cracks me up! At least I got the mango part right each time! I spent what was left on my Disney rewards card for those two drinks so the timing was good.

Well, I do have 81 cents left but can’t buy anything at Disney for that!

We walked out of the park and to a boat that was just pulling up yet again and I just can’t get over the timing of the boats on this trip it’s really shocking. And amazing! We finished our drinks and while on the boat and got off at the 1st stop over at Swan/Dolphin because we were running behind and the boat is slow plus we didn’t know if it went to Boardwalk next or not.

We checked in for dinner at the Big River Grill and Brewery. We got a table outside because that’s the only reason to eat here. We ordered nachos to share and couldn’t decide between beef or chicken and the waitress said you can do half and half so we did that. However, they came out at the same time our food did which made the nachos a waste of money! I got the ribeye but it was super fatty and stringy but dang it smelled good and it didn’t taste bad either. It got dark while we were eating and there wasn’t much light which made it difficult to cut and eat the steak. It also came with mashed potatoes and veggies which were all good. I think Olivia ordered a burger but I have no idea because I didn’t write a single thing about her meal! How funny is that.

Oh, and about the time we got our food the Epcot fireworks started and we had a very good view of them. It was totally unexpected and unplanned. We kept trying to snap pics that showed us eating at an outdoor table with the fireworks overhead.

We also had the waitress take a pic of us together but it really doesn’t show the cool Boardwalk area very well or at all. We needed to be sitting the opposite way or standing to get the cool area in the pic with us. Oh well. Dinner was about $80 and would have been about $20 cheaper if we had skipped the huge plate of nachos that didn’t stand a chance.

The only bad part was a large annoying family with really annoying kids. I’m not sure if the kids were the problem, I think it was the mom she bossed that waitress around something terrible and they arrived after us but their orders were taken, food brought and eaten and bill taken care of all before ours was but it was mostly the bossy lady’s fault not as much the waitress.

We left and started to walk around the Boardwalk they had jugglers and a magician out but all of sudden Olivia said I HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM and Boy; did she mean it! I had no idea where a public bathroom was so she darted quickly into a fancy sit down restaurant and found a bathroom in there. She was gone a bit and I wondered down to the ice cream shop and wished we had just shared a meal at dinner so we could try this place out, as she’s in the bathroom dying. Haha!

She found me and we walked back to the room and packed some of our stuff up a little bit and its 10:30 and we are going to bed now if I can shut her off of her phone!

About an hour after we went to sleep, I woke up to Lib snoring louder then any other night of the trip! And I had my earplugs IN but it still woke me up. I went over and woke her up and told her to change positions because she didn’t snore at all last night! The next morning when I talked about it, she said she doesn’t even remember that happening.

Royal Pacific Resort

Sunday May 28th.

I woke up at 6:17 and the alarm was set for 6:30 so I went ahead and got up, showered and started getting ready. I had to go meet the scooter guy at 7:00 and I had been worried 6:30 wasn’t going to give me enough time to get ready anyway.

That was super easy and quick. Especially with the location of our hotel room! Olivia had to go swipe more products from the lobby bathroom again. Thank goodness they have them! We were all ready and down in the lobby at 7:30 to call our Uber and it showed up in 5 minutes. It was only $35 today ($55 on the way here) Also, the other night to and from the Poly it was $16 one way and $11 the other way.

We arrived at the airport about 8am and it was busy but we got checked in and over to Cinnabon to eat and then through security which took about 15 minutes. Then we got some sodas to drink while we waited because we needed caffeine. It’s 9:45 as I typed my morning notes and the plane leaves at 10:45.

We sat at our gate for awhile and it said St Louis and then at 10:15 when we should have started boarding that gate switched and they were boarding for a flight to Jamacia. Then the sign switched our gate number from 107 to 103 so we hustled down there and people were already lining up and starting to board the flight! One whole row of boarding group A was already on the plane and they were starting with our row so we panicked and jumped in line! Omg I can’t believe how close we came to not getting on that flight. As we stepped onto the plane, I said I hope this is for St Louis because I didn’t even look at that! LOL

We landed at noon and Alan picked us up at the door! That’s defiantly the way to fly! Lol

Olivia had made a nice Facebook post while we had waited at the gate saying “TAKE THE TRIP” because several times we wondered if we should just give it up. But NO, this trip was so much fun and so different, more adult, more pool time, fancy hotel, lots of rain but I worry my future trips won’t live up to this one.

Also, we had been so worried about the heat and the crowds but it never got into the 90’s like it normally would this time of year. We did make use of the AC when we could but we got very lucky with that. Also, upon our return there were many reports that Disney had the slowest crowds of any Memorial Day weekend ever!

I’m ready to do it again!
